Little Perth came to fruition in the Spring of 2021, a little florist & speciality coffee shop in the heart of Southbourne, Dorset. But our story was birthed years back - a story of nostalgia, of longing for home, of enjoying simple & beautiful things, & of finding greater joy & meaning in sharing them with others.
Some of my earliest memories growing up in Perth, WA are of wild flowers, gum trees, endless Summers, the smell of the ocean, & full hearts. Fast forward through a couple of decades in the UK & I found myself back home in Perth, introducing my English husband & our baby boy to the delights of WA, sipping our way through more stunning coffee stops than we could count, & dreaming of what may come next. It was on this trip that the idea formed of bringing together our two passions; coffee & flowers. We loved the idea of offering fresh, seasonal, design-led bouquets alongside the tastiest of speciality coffees & completely reimagining the flower-buying experience. And we loved the idea of bringing a little slice of home to our corner of the UK.
With one toddler in tow & another on the way we put the idea on ice & instead opened Quarters Coffee in Newport, South Wales. Alongside our best friends we spent three years honing our skills & knowledge in speciality coffee, & the ins-and-outs of running a busy little business. We loved every minute, & made memories that will last a lifetime.
In the midst of lockdown in 2020, we decided the time was right to relocate to be near to family in Southbourne & open Little Perth. This corner of Dorset has always reminded me of home in WA. The long golden beaches, the independent stores, the amazing food, the family feel & those long Summer evenings watching the waves. Little Perth is an extension of our home (literally - we live upstairs!) - a place where you will be so welcome, where we’ll design and serve the good things that bring us joy and remind us of home. From amazing coffee, to delicious food, to breathtaking florals - all sourced with sustainability, ethics & quality right at the heart.
In November 2022 we opened the doors to our second florist in the thriving area of Westbourne. This one’s all about the flowers and showcasing our favourite homeware and lifestyle brands (but you’ll still be able to grab a coffee and cake - don’t fear)! We can’t wait to welcome you…
